Vitamin D!!!

Yesterday was the most glorious day on Illinois record for 2009. What, you ask, made Saturday, February 7, 2009 AD so spectacular? 60 Degrees baby! We didn't even need jackets! We celebrated by going down to the riverfront and talking trash to the ice as it melted, sucka-chump!

Here's the "Spirit of Peoria": real live paddleboat.
The pigeons on their ceremonial flight celebrating the inevitable death of winter.

Pregnant Tiff showing off her giant propeller.

And last but not least, fishcicles. You gotta wonder "why, when the water was beginning to form ice crystals on their fins, didn't they just swim deeper?"

Reminds me of Catcher in the Rye when he wonders where all the ducks go for winter or if they just get frozen in the lake. I'm an English nerd, what can I say?

That last comment was actually from me, Rebecca! Didn't want to confuse you, Braden!p.s. I have the picture of us with our longboards in my classroom and my cool factor goes up every time the students ask me to explain it.

I don't think I could live there...it looks way too cold.

That is funny, stupid fish. I'm glad that things are starting to thaw; it is a good sign that Peoria won't look like Canada forever. Hope you're doing well.

HA HA...those fish are dumb. BUT maybe they are just self-sacrificing themselves so when the ice melts the birds have something to eat?

Hey! I saw your blog from another family's in the ward. Wasn't the weather so nice finally!!!! We went to the park for the first half of the day too. Dallin thought it was the greatest thing ever! At least we have hope now that it will get warm again! I can't wait!!!
